About the Role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a People Leader to oversee three teams within Supply Chain, focusing on logistics planning, external manufacturing operations, and technical support for distribution centers and operations centers. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and the stable functioning of facilities, ultimately contributing to a world where diseases are prevented, treated, and cured.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the Logistics Planning Group, including import procurement and inventory management.
  • Plan and manage budgets related to import procurement.
  • Effectively operate and manage external contract manufacturers, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and high-quality operations.
  • Maintain a system for prompt and appropriate responses to inquiries and complaints regarding packaging and labeling.
  • Ensure the stable operation of facilities such as the Haneda Distribution Center and Arashiyama Operations Center through verification, inspection, and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Understand and strictly adhere to medical device manufacturing and sales related requirements, maintaining and managing related processes.
  • Create a safe working environment based on EHSS (Environment, Health, Safety, and Security) standards.
  • Manage import procurement, inventory, vendor relations, and employee development, including temporary staff.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Logistics Planning Group.
  • Minimize stock-out opportunities and their impact on customers and sales by accurately analyzing inventory forecasts based on demand and production plans, and providing timely information to domestic and international stakeholders.
  • Establish processes for accurate demand forecasting through collaboration with domestic and international stakeholders.
  • Enhance engagement with stakeholders from Sales, Marketing, and Finance departments.
  • Build strong partnerships with suppliers and overseas distributors to improve operational quality and reduce costs while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Create and manage supplier contracts and quality records.
  • Ensure compliance with customs brokerage outsourcing and establish/operate compliance verification processes based on HCC internal regulations.
  • Develop and manage budgets related to import, inventory management, and organizational operations, including cost control and reporting.
  • Agree on optimal safety stock levels with the Global Logistics Group.
  • Reduce SLOB (Slow-Moving and Obsolete) and Excess Stock while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Select optimal transportation modes considering lead time, cost, and quality.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain Planning to participate in Free Cash Flow activities and contribute to KPI achievement.
  • Improve Support's Performance Analytics Capability and Project Management skills.
  • Develop and execute procurement schedules for inventory build-ups, including new products and sales initiatives.
  • Manage external manufacturers (ROC/MED Sukagawa), including vendor management, operations, and employee development.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Back Office departments during new product launches to establish processes.
  • Align marketing requests with operational constraints.
  • Develop schedules and necessary tasks.
  • Coordinate specifications, costs, and timelines with Technical Support for facility introductions.
  • Facilitate tasks and coordinate roles and responsibilities among relevant departments.
  • Design operational processes for interface points, not just the primary focus areas.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, QA/RA for material development and vendor selection.
  • Develop mid-to-long-term strategies and manage costs (CAPEX/OPEX).
  • Manage vendors (process, quality, cost) for material suppliers.
  • Develop subordinates with the goal of future departmental leadership.

Requirements

  • Experience in investment planning and investment efficiency calculations is desirable.
  • Project management experience with projects exceeding tens of millions of units is desirable.
  • Experience with improvement skills (TPS, Lean, Six Sigma, IE) is desirable.
  • Experience in multiple improvement projects is desirable.
  • People leadership experience, including developing subordinates and junior staff, is desirable.
  • 4-year university degree or equivalent.
  • 8-10 years of experience in supply chain related operations.
  • English proficiency sufficient for negotiation with headquarters.
  • People management experience (5+ years).
