About the Role
The Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) collaborates with sales representatives and Account Technical Leads (ATLs) to understand customer business challenges and deliver technical proposals leveraging Autodesk solutions. This role supports customer decision-making and contributes to achieving Technical Wins through product demonstrations, technical discovery, solution design, and validation activities. The TSS also proposes workflow improvements across design, construction, and data utilization, collaborating with various internal teams and partners to deliver continuous customer value.
Responsibilities
- Understand customer business processes, workflows, and technical challenges, and provide technical recommendations.
- Work with sales representatives and ATLs to execute the technical strategy for each opportunity.
- Explain the value of Autodesk solutions in alignment with customer business challenges.
- Lead discovery sessions and organize customer requirements.
- Translate requirements into standard solution patterns and design the proposed approach.
- Drive multiple opportunities in parallel while providing technical support based on prioritization.
- Deliver product demonstrations tailored to industries and use cases.
- Build clear stories that communicate the value of Autodesk products effectively.
- Contribute to the use and improvement of demo assets and content for sales and partners.
- Design solutions by combining Autodesk products.
- Conduct technical validation, including Validation and PoC activities, to confirm feasibility.
- Assess technical risks and provide recommendations based on best practices.
- Support sales activities from a technical perspective for new business, renewals, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities.
- Support proposal development and solution configuration planning.
- Share new proposal opportunities with sales teams based on customer adoption status.
- Collaborate with Sales representatives, ATLs, Customer Success Managers, partners, Marketing, and Product development teams.
- Contribute to organizing and improving best practices and demo assets.
- Share feedback obtained from customers with Product teams.
- Disseminate technical knowledge and success stories internally.
Requirements
- 3+ years of practical experience in the construction industry, including design, construction, general contractors, specialty contractors, or related fields.
- Experience using Autodesk products or other CAD/BIM solutions.
- Strong understanding of BIM and construction workflows.
- Experience organizing customer requirements, developing proposals, and delivering presentations.
- Communication skills to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and drive opportunities forward.
- High level of communication skills in Japanese.
