About the Role

You'll sit at the intersection of infrastructure and engineering, deploying, monitoring, and managing cloud applications in a fast-moving, technically diverse environment. This role is for those driven by cutting-edge work.

Responsibilities

  • Own Brighte's AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and IaC (Terraform), ensuring environments are secure, scalable, reliable and consistently reproducible across all stages.
  • Monitor and maintain system performance and reliability using Datadog, manage database operations, respond to incidents, and ensure application security across authentication, authorisation and the broader AWS stack.
  • Design AI-augmented DevOps workflows - agentic pipelines connecting AI models via AWS Bedrock to GitHub, Jira and Slack and embed AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) with appropriate guardrails into the engineering workflow.
  • Partner with squad and cross-functional engineering teams on architecture, production readiness and platform decisions, while mentoring the DevOps team through code reviews, best practice enforcement and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years in DevOps with hands-on experience across AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, GitLab or equivalent), IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK), and strong scripting in Python or Bash.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver complex cloud transformation projects on AWS across serverless (Lambda), microservices, event-driven architectures, VPC, IAM, and both SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong AWS and cloud security knowledge including network configuration best practices, ACSC ISM application, and the ability to embed security proactively into squad workflows through threat modelling, shift-left testing and compliance-aware architecture decisions.
  • Working knowledge of monitoring and error reporting tools including AWS CloudWatch, Wiz Portal and Sentry.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or equivalent including repo-level access controls, coding standards for AI output, and critical review of AI-generated code.
  • Familiarity with AWS Bedrock or equivalent managed AI services, building LLM-connected operational pipelines, prompt engineering, and AI-specific security risks including prompt injection, data leakage and supply chain vulnerabilities in AI tooling.
  • References and background checks, which include a police check, anti-money laundering and bankruptcy checks, are required as part of the process.
