About the Role
LightSpeed Japan Studio is a game development studio dedicated to crafting original AAA action game titles for global audiences. Led by industry veteran Hideaki Itsuno, the studio operates across two locations in Tokyo and Osaka. Responsibilities
- Design and implement lighting for scenes, levels, and cutscenes within the game.
- Achieve the artistic vision for lighting to enhance the game’s atmosphere and mood.
- Develop optimal lighting solutions while balancing performance and quality.
- Collaborate closely with other artists, engineers, and designers, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and techniques.
- Suggest improvements and optimize tools and workflows related to lighting.
Requirements
- Experience as a Lighting Artist on AAA game projects.
- Proficient in setting up and adjusting lighting within game engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity.
- Strong understanding of the principles of lighting, including light and shadow, color balance, and post-processing effects in graphics.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills with both art and technical teams.
- High level of creativity and visual insight.
Skills
- Experience developing for next-generation consoles.
- Knowledge and experience with Physically Based Rendering (PBR).
- Background in cinematography or film lighting.
- Basic knowledge of shaders and scripting.

- Negotiable (Salary increase/Bonus available)
- Includes fixed overtime pay for 35 hours/month for general employees.
