About the Role
KLA Services is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide comprehensive support for our advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role involves direct customer interaction, system maintenance, and contributing to product improvement through feedback.
Responsibilities
- Provide service support to customers encompassing system commissioning, system breakdown repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Generate a close working relationship with customers to enable the company to sell its product portfolio.
- Provide feedback enabling the proactive identification of product and business process improvements.
- Complete all field reports in a timely manner.
- Perform system chamber cleans, including component removal, scrubbing, and reassembly to achieve acceptable chamber LUR.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Solid background in electronics, RF theory, mechanical engineering, vacuum technology, and basic knowledge of plasma processing equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose RF, Pneumatic, Vacuum, Electronic (AC and DC), PLC, DeviceNet, and Computer issues to the component level.
- Working knowledge of MS DOS, Windows software, and MS Office products.
- Excellent communication and customer interfacing skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Adaptable approach to working hours, locations, and conditions.
- Flexible approach to work responsibilities, enabling both independent and team working.
- Ability to work alone or unsupervised for extended periods, often in difficult conditions.
- Systematic and logical approach to problem solving.
- Must be able to travel > 50% of the time to support the customer base as required.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. overhead occasionally.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently.
- Must be able to bend from the waist.
- Must be able to lift items overhead safely.
- Must be able to work on hands and knees or on their back while servicing equipment.
- Must be able to bend and twist to gain access to service the equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret signs, placards, and manuals.
- Ability to view the full color spectrum.
- Ability to work standing at the system in up to 2-hour intervals.
- Must be able to work autonomously.
- Must be able to work in a product wafer fab clean room environment.
