About the Role

Austin Regional Clinic is a growing professional medical group with over 25 locations in Central Texas, recognized as a top employer for over 10 years. We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately report and document patient status, care rendered, responses, provider orders, and healthcare provider contacts.
  • Refill medications following established protocols.
  • Room patients, accurately document vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations.
  • Follow clinic protocols and directions from nursing leadership.
  • Perform diagnostic testing including EKGs, audiograms, tympanograms, spirometry, and visual screenings.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of medical and office supplies, ensuring proper stocking and ordering.
  • Review medication refill requests and assist with daily refill tasks.
  • Review and address callbacks from the EPIC triage system.
  • Clean patient rooms and ensure laundry carts are stocked with fresh linens.
  • Assist providers with procedures such as sigmoidoscopy exams and cardiac stress testing, including setup, patient preparation, and equipment cleaning.
  • Maintain and sterilize medical equipment, checking expiration dates.
  • Adhere to all company policies, including OSHA, HIPAA, compliance, and Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain regular and dependable attendance.
  • Follow company core competencies.
  • Work required holiday shifts.
  • Provide patients with educational materials as directed.
  • Administer medications under physician direction and within the scope of practice.
  • Review and communicate normal lab results to patients.
  • Review provider instructions for abnormal results.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meet one of the following criteria: Medical Assistant experience, CNA/EMT/PCT or comparable direct patient care experience (including manual vitals, medications, and/or injections), or graduation from a medical assistant program.
  • Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider CPR card required within 60 days of hire.

Experience Level

  • Six (6) months or more experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

Education Level

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a medical assistant program.
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
