About the Role

DREAM's After School Enrichment Specialists create diverse learning experiences focusing on artistic, cultural, or STEM activities for students in grades Pre-K to 8. These specialists design and deliver engaging lesson plans that culminate in collaborative projects or performances, fostering student interest and development within a supportive program environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver lesson plans for an enrichment activity aligned to the DREAM program model for grades PreK-3, supporting interest exploration.
• Design and deliver lesson plans for an enrichment activity aligned to the DREAM program model for grades 4-8, culminating in a project or presentation.
• Collaborate with Youth Workers, Dean of Student Life, and Associate Director of Extended Learning and Enrichment for a cohesive experience.
• Embed literacy throughout all instruction.
• Prepare all materials before activities and facilitate thorough cleanup afterwards.
• Encourage positive youth participation in activities.
• Serve as a role model demonstrating professional behavior.
• Implement all health and safety protocols, ensuring child safety and responding to incidents.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age by the role’s start date.
• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree or certification in a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience working with groups of youth, or similar experience preferred.
• Ability to independently plan and implement lessons in a specialty area.
• Clear passion for specialty area.
• Understanding of effective youth development strategies and conflict resolution.
• Exemplary social, organizational, and communication skills.
• Dedication to the program and ability to collaborate with colleagues.
• Ability to work in-person during all program hours.
• A strong belief in the mission and values of DREAM.

• $30 - $38 per hour
