About the Role
As a Sushi Chef at Uchiko, you will serve as a vital member of our team, enriching the culinary and service experience for our guests while developing your skills within a professional kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Acquaint yourself with the menu, current specials, and Japanese cuisine
- Learn and perfect sushi techniques under the guidance of skilled Chef teams
- Understand proper product handling and waste reduction
- Interact with guests at the sushi bar, take orders, and explain dishes
- Cultivate an amazing guest experience
- Learn various sushi stations and progress as knowledge and skills grow
- Collaborate with teams to create dishes for the specials page and core menu
- Detect and identify safety issues and comply with safety guidelines
- Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 lbs
- Stock inventory and perform restocking duties
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Bend, stoop, and reach to access various areas and items
- Use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, grills, and knives
- Maintain a neat and organized workspace, including proper storage and cleaning
- Move quickly and efficiently to respond to customer needs
- Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance
- Understand directives and communicate effectively with leadership and coworkers

Salary/Compensations
- $25 per hour average (hourly base rate + tips)
- $1,250 sign-on bonus
