Drive Reflex Aerospace's commercial growth across institutional and commercial markets outside the defense sector. Own the commercial opportunity lifecycle from identification and qualification to contract negotiation and new business acquisition. Combine hands-on business development with long-term market strategy and commercial foundations to support the company's growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute market strategies for institutional and commercial customers.
- Align Reflex's product offering with market needs, customer requirements, and strategic growth priorities.
- Identify new business opportunities, develop commercial business cases, and translate market strategy into executable growth plans.
- Position Reflex Aerospace as a leading European space company and preferred partner for complex microsatellite missions.
- Build and own a strong commercial pipeline, including opportunity qualification, prioritization, forecasting, and reporting.
- Lead the full business development lifecycle, from prospecting and customer engagement through proposal development, commercial negotiation, and contract closing.
- Drive commercial performance by coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve and exceed revenue objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional and commercial customers, including ESA, DLR, European institutions, national agencies, satellite operators, primes, and strategic partners.
- Establish a scalable customer success and partnership management approach.
- Coordinate cross-functional bid activities, working closely with Engineering, Mission, Finance, Legal, and Leadership teams.
- Maintain transparency on pipeline development, commercial forecasts, strategic opportunities, and risks through regular reporting.
- Ensure commercial activities are aligned with technical capabilities, operational capacity, and strategic priorities.
- Help build a world-class commercial team and coordinate commercial efforts.
- Mentor and develop colleagues across functions, strengthening commercial capabilities.
- Foster close collaboration across business and technical teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in sales, business development, or programme acquisition within the space, aerospace or another deep-tech sector.
- Proven track record of defining market strategies, achieving ambitious sales targets, closing complex deals, and expanding market share.
- Strong relationships across the commercial space ecosystem, including institutional and commercial customers, primes, partners, and other key industry stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of the global space industry, including market trends, competitors, procurement processes, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with ESA, DLR, EU, national agency, or institutional procurement processes is a strong asset.
- Solid technical understanding of space systems and their applications.
- Experience translating complex technical capabilities into compelling commercial value propositions.
- Experience building commercial strategies, developing strategic partnerships, and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- A scale-up mindset with a hands-on attitude.
- Willingness to do what it takes to move opportunities forward.
- Thrive in a collaborative environment, actively supporting colleagues across functions and valuing team success over individual wins.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Professional proficiency in German is an advantage.
