About the Role
Freedom's Professional Services is seeking a Senior Design Engineer with expertise in cabling systems and/or cable routing. This role involves the design, drawing, and calculation of projects, collaborating with the Design team, and conducting site visits for surveys and data collection. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead technically demanding projects.
- Lead all types of cabling projects from concept to detailed design, including calculations and drawings, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness and build strong client relationships.
- Understand and mitigate complex engineering problems such as SED’s.
- Mentor and guide Design, Assistant, and Graduate Engineers.
- Attend and chair design team meetings.
- Provide engineering solutions to site-based problems through the TQ/RFI process.
- Review and authorize cable design reports and drawings, providing constructive technical feedback.
- Conduct, supervise, and demonstrate site visits for cable route assessments, design commissioning, and failure investigations.
Requirements
- Fundamentals from HNC/HNC are essential.
- Must be autonomous and require little direction to complete tasks.
Skills
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of cable system design.
- Very good knowledge of software packages including CYMCAP.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of cable routing design.
- Very good knowledge of software packages including AutoCAD.
