About the Role
Join the credit investment team at a pivotal time as high yield and opportunistic credit markets evolve through data, technology, and AI-driven processes. This is a high-conviction investment role where you will own positions, contribute to capital allocation, and utilize AI tools to generate alpha while managing downside risk.
Responsibilities
- Develop and defend differentiated credit theses with clear catalysts and risk/reward frameworks
- Exercise judgment at the intersection of data and uncertainty in stressed and distressed situations
- Build issuer relationships to surface information early
- Challenge AI-generated outputs when credit analysis diverges from the model
- Translate macro developments into actionable conviction in a high-conviction portfolio
- Source and develop opportunities across high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and stressed credit
- Own select positions end-to-end including underwriting, monitoring, and exit decisions
- Lead fundamental issuer analysis using AI-assisted modelling
- Evaluate capital structures, covenant protections, and recovery scenarios
- Stress-test models across base, downside, and tail-risk cases
- Contribute to sizing, diversification, and risk-budgeting decisions
- Participate in entry, exit, and rebalancing decisions
- Maintain views on credit markets, spreads, and liquidity
- Direct AI tools to synthesize sector dynamics, issuer data, and macro signals
- Identify dislocations and thematic opportunities
Requirements
- 4–8 years in credit investing, leveraged finance, or investment banking
- Clear track record of analytical ownership
- Deep fluency in high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and credit markets
- Demonstrated capacity to build and stress-test financial models
- Proven judgment under uncertainty
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
