About the Role
This role involves participating in complex problem resolution and leading projects of diverse scope. You will provide pragmatic legal advice, manage legal risks, and drive global process improvements while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide clear, pragmatic, and solution-oriented legal advice to enable business strategy.
- Manage legal risks and safeguard company interests by developing comprehensive risk management frameworks.
- Participate in complex problem resolution and provide expert legal advice on high-stakes issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Partner with business counterparts to drive the delivery of effective legal services.
- Escalate complex issues to senior legal leadership.
- Manage data security incidents from a legal perspective within an enterprise incident response program.
- Manage concurrent multijurisdictional incidents involving cross-border notification obligations.
- Manage regulatory reporting timelines and draft notifications compliant with international and U.S. requirements.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Juris doctorate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in incident scoping, privilege preservation, and managing outside counsel.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and data protection regulations and frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2, or CCPA.
- Understanding of IT, web, mobile, and payment ecosystem technologies and their data security implications.
