About the Role
Provide high-impact cardiovascular care in a paradise-like setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations, histories, and physical exams for new and follow-up cardiology patients.
- Manage and monitor patients with cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and hyperlipidemia.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs, Holter monitors, echocardiograms, and stress tests.
- Assist in care coordination for procedures or specialty referrals.
- Provide inpatient cardiology consults and follow-ups (if applicable).
- Participate in hospital rounds, discharge planning, and transitions of care.
- Educate patients and families on lifestyle changes, medications, and disease management.
- Collaborate closely with supervising cardiologists, primary care providers, and support staff.
Requirements
- Current and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Hawaii, or eligibility to obtain one.
- National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- 1–2 years cardiology or internal medicine experience preferred; strong new graduates with relevant rotations or RN cardiology background considered.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently with physician support.
- EMR experience (Epic or equivalent preferred).
