About the Role

The Host is a personal representation of the service and overall hospitality of The Club lounge at San Francisco International Airport, setting the tone for the guest's entire visit by greeting them, checking credentials, processing sales, and ushering them into the lounge. The Host also provides lounge tours and completes guest discrepancy reports.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with guests in a professional and pleasant manner within a premier clubroom/bar environment.
  • Welcome guests by name and assist them throughout their stay.
  • Take ownership of the guest's experience from beginning to end.
  • Employ the Guest First philosophy in meeting guests' needs and expectations.
  • Listen to guest needs and offer confident recommendations to ensure high satisfaction.
  • Make quick and effective decisions in unanticipated situations, prioritizing guest experience.
  • Be knowledgeable about the lounge, guests, and the surrounding area.
  • Communicate with guests over the phone and in person.
  • Provide guests with information needed to enjoy their stay, including details on facilities and booking services.
  • Possess basic working knowledge of alcoholic beverages and food offerings.
  • Complete paperwork related to daily sales, passenger counts, and miscellaneous reporting.
  • Follow established safety procedures and report any health and safety incidents, security breaches, concerns, or suspicious behavior.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively and pleasantly present information one-on-one and in group settings to guests and team members.
  • Passion for servicing guests with proactive solutions.
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Awareness of surroundings and cultural differences.
  • Ability to maintain a presentable and polished appearance in keeping with service standards.
  • Must be able to stand during the entire scheduled shift.
  • Ability to handle the stress of a fast-paced work shift up to ten hours.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to walk, bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
  • Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to pass and obtain security background check and clearance to work in an airport environment.
  • Hourly team members are required to become members of Unite Here, Local 2 upon hire.
