About the Role

This role contributes to maximizing product value throughout all stages, from introduction to Japan to post-market lifecycle management. The Project Manager leads cross-organizational collaboration, developing and executing development strategies based on product characteristics from non-clinical, clinical, regulatory, trial execution, formulation development, manufacturing, and marketing perspectives. They ensure effective communication, facilitate decision-making, and drive alignment between development and commercial departments.

Responsibilities

Contribute to maximizing product value from introduction to Japan through post-market lifecycle management.
Lead cross-organizational collaboration and develop/execute development strategies.
Oversee the entire team's function, drive deliverables aligned with decision timelines, and participate in strategic planning.
Lead activities within the product strategy, ensuring alignment with overall strategy and execution members.
Conduct necessary internal meetings (phone/video/in-person) and lead discussions.
Attend necessary external meetings (regulatory consultations, partner meetings, etc.).
Participate in and lead discussions with the project team to develop risk control plans.
Represent the project team in progress reviews and create progress reports for management.
Share plans related to development and marketing activities between medical development and commercial departments.
Collaborate with commercial departments to reflect strategies and plans.
Lead value analysis for development candidates and lifecycle candidates in collaboration with development members and marketing.
Provide Japanese input to the Global Medical Development Headquarters in the US for early-stage products.
Collaborate with the Portfolio Project Management department in the US to ensure Japanese development plans align with global strategies.

Requirements

Strong leadership skills.
Experience managing teams and driving projects in a cross-organizational environment.
Ability to set team goals, manage departmental processes or project schedules, develop action plans for problem-solving, and identify/manage risks.
Strategic and unconventional thinking ability.
Proven track record in project operations.
Knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical development, healthcare, or sales discipline (disease area is not specified).
Knowledge of pharmaceutical application/approval, launch, and post-market processes.
English communication skills (around TOEIC 750).
Experience in development alliances or co-development programs is highly desirable.
Over 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Clinical development experience (area and role not specified).
Project management experience is preferred.
