About the Role

RECONN is seeking problem solvers who take pride in public safety and are comfortable in a fast-paced, exciting work environment to join their team as leaders in the utility industry, concentrating on quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of Natural Gas Detectors
  • Inspecting gas services for leaks and corrosion
  • Visual inspection of gas services
  • Ensuring all required paperwork and documentation is completed
  • Identifying abnormal operating conditions while on-site
  • Notifying appropriate company personnel of abnormal operating conditions
  • Accurately filling out all forms associated with the inspection visit (form may be electronic or paper)

Requirements

  • Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
  • Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area or overnight travel may be expected
  • Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position)
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs
  • Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities
  • Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints
  • Possess basic math skill to calculate distances
  • Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners

  • Credit hours for military service

Salary/Compensations

  • $21 per hour for new technicians
  • $27 per hour for those with substantial prior experience
  • $22.66 per hour once fully qualified and working independently
