About the Role
Representatives use a consultative approach to manage and collect on delinquent accounts, helping consumers identify the most suitable way to resolve a balance. This role requires customer focus, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a motivated, positive team player and problem solver.
Responsibilities
- Obtain information from Consumers to determine current financial situation and identify solutions.
- Provide solutions to Consumers to enable them to resolve their obligation administratively or voluntarily.
- Gather proper documentation from Consumers and maintain appropriate follow-up.
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals set by management.
- Make between 125-200 phone calls per day.
- Achieve targeted monthly performance objectives for collections.
- Properly manage and update systems to maximize contacts.
- Perform skip-tracing to assist in locating and contacting consumers or businesses.
- Adhere to ConServe’s Professional Practices Management System (PPMS), Code of Conduct, and Compliance Program.
Requirements
- Ability to work 8-hour shifts, with two evenings from Noon EST - 9:00 pm EST and three dayshift days.
- Ability to work onsite three days per week and remotely two days per week.
- Prior Student Loan collection experience preferred.
- Willingness to work an occasional Saturday morning shift (optional).
- Fluent in conversational English and ability to proficiently read and write English.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to listen, persuade, negotiate, and obtain resolution.
- Intermediate computer skills for documenting calls and navigating software, databases, and the internet.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Ability and history of maintaining confidentiality and high trustworthiness.

- Ability to obtain and maintain Government Security Clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain State Collections Licensure.
- US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with three or more years as a permanent resident in the United States.
- No conflicts of interest with ConServe or its Clients.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to sit or remain sedentary for the entire work shift (8, 9, or 10 hours).
- Ability to talk and listen on a phone for the entire work shift (8, 9, or 10 hours).
- Ability to type on a computer for the entire work shift (8, 9, or 10 hours).
