About the Role

Performs outpatient and/or inpatient Radiographic procedures using mobile and stationary equipment within General Diagnostics, Fluoroscopy, Mobile Radiography, Emergency Radiography, and Operating Room settings. Must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles and the ability to assess and interpret patient data based on age-specific needs.

Responsibilities

• Performs simple and complex radiographic procedures using stationary and mobile radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment with minimal supervision.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
• Verifies proper patient identification and exam orders, reviews medical history, and ensures correct patient imaging.
• Practices radiation protection by calculating and selecting appropriate technical factors and utilizing protective measures.
• Prepares exam rooms and equipment according to safety protocols.
• Determines procedure sequence and prioritizes patients.
• Coordinates exams with other departments as needed.
• Abides by institutional and TJC patient safety policies.
• Orients and trains new staff members and radiography students.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area, ensuring proper supplies and equipment function.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in radiology or associated field required.
• BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification required.
• License Radiographer (142) - State of Wisconsin required.
• ARRT - Radiography certification required.
• Ability to respond to clinical and administrative emergencies.
• Understanding of Children’s Wisconsin health care delivery system and its impact.
