About the Role

As an Investment Specialist, you will be a business driver for Fixed Income, engaging with external clients as a proxy for our fixed income portfolio managers. You will represent Capital Group at speaking events, sales meetings, and point of sale presentations, serving as the primary contact to clients for investment expertise and capital markets perspective on the fixed income market. You will excel at conducting robust quantitative/qualitative research to produce differentiated insight about portfolios and are motivated by growing businesses, setting goals, and measuring performance. You are a well-rounded collaborator, working skillfully with senior sales force members to provide opportunities for better investor outcomes, understanding the importance of mindful communication in an inclusive environment. You create and maintain meaningful relationships and can readily provide examples of areas for improvement, having listened to feedback throughout your career to continuously improve.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with external clients as a proxy for fixed income portfolio managers.
  • Represent Capital Group at speaking events, sales meetings, and point of sale presentations.
  • Serve as the primary contact to clients, delivering investment expertise and capital markets perspective about the fixed income market.
  • Conduct robust quantitative/qualitative research to produce differentiated insight about portfolios.
  • Collaborate with senior sales force members to provide opportunities for better investor outcomes.
  • Create and maintain meaningful relationships.
  • Provide examples of areas for improvement and demonstrate continuous self-improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of fixed income investment experience as a buy-side Portfolio Manager, Product Manager, Client Portfolio Manager, Portfolio Specialist, Analyst and/or Trader.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a CPM/Product Manager/Portfolio Specialist in Fixed Income.
  • Deep knowledge of global bond markets, strategies, and investment processes, including investment research, portfolio management, risk control, benchmark construction, and strategy design.
  • Proven experience in building fixed income franchises from idea and implementation stage through ongoing execution with sales teams.
  • Experience across vehicles: mutual funds, other commingled vehicles, and institutional separate accounts.
  • Well-versed in the distribution structures of institutional and retail channels.
  • Experience in building effective and concise strategy pitch books.
  • Ability to leverage technologies for custom analysis (Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, Fact set, etc.).
  • Enthusiastic communicator with significant sales experience across distribution channels.
