About the Role
CMC Markets ANZ is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for delivering strong financial governance and control, while producing timely and insightful financial reporting and analysis to support strategic business decision-making. You will work closely with key stakeholders across the business, contributing to budgeting, forecasting, regulatory reporting, treasury management, and statutory compliance in a fast-paced financial services environment. You will also support the development and implementation of key business initiatives, working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance ANZ, this role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional collaboration across departments including FP&A, Tax, HR, Compliance, Risk, and Treasury. You will lead and develop a team of finance professionals across the ANZ region, including both locally based and offshore team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Due to the nature of the role and regulatory obligations within financial services, occasional work on public holidays may be required to meet critical reporting deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and monthly management reporting for relevant ANZ entities, including variance analysis and commentary
- Deliver accurate financial, regulatory, and ad-hoc reporting to support business performance and strategic decision-making
- Maintain strong financial governance and controls, including balance sheet reconciliations and transaction accuracy across reporting systems
- Coordinate year-end statutory audits, prepare accounting and board papers, and support auditor and compliance requirements
- Oversee payroll, supplier, and client payment processes while working closely with HR, Tax, and Treasury teams
- Oversight of outsourced Accounts Payable operations, ensuring efficient and accurate service delivery
- Drive continuous improvement in internal reporting, financial processes, and control procedures across the Finance function
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across the business while ensuring compliance with all regulatory, financial reporting, and training obligations
Requirements
- CA / CPA qualified with 6-8 years post qualification experience, including experience in financial control and team leadership
- Financial Services experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in preparing accounting/board papers
- Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the business and effectively support internal stakeholders
- Advanced Excel knowledge including scenario modelling
- Self-starter with a desire to learn and influence change
