About the Role
As a Special Projects Manager at LatchBio, you will act as a force multiplier for the COO and Chief of Staff, absorbing ambiguity, structuring complex problems, and driving them to resolution autonomously. This role is designed for an individual who thrives on solving multifaceted challenges at the intersection of biology and computation.
Responsibilities
- Operate as a true body double for the COO and Chief of Staff.
- Sit in ambiguity, size up messy problems, and impose structure.
- Move projects to resolution without waiting for permission.
- Absorb, think, decide, and solve problems to conclusion with autonomy.
- Build the first version of operational systems and optimize existing fragile ones.
- Track burn, forecast runway, pressure-test EBIT margins, and analyze financial tradeoffs.
- Navigate risks and compliance by reviewing contracts, assessing risk, and redlining.
- Maintain structured oversight of obligations and evolve policies, controls, and documentation.
- Design systems that add clarity and accountability without sacrificing speed.
- Move fluidly across HR, hiring, finance, compliance, legal, product, and engineering.
- Connect dots across departments and prevent silos.
- Recalibrate quickly when priorities shift.
