About the Role

Otter is seeking a finance professional to partner with business leaders and the CFO, translating complex data into actionable insights to drive growth, efficiency, and capital allocation. This role involves leading budgeting, long-range planning, financial modeling, and evaluating key initiatives across revenue, margin, and cost structure. The position also requires tracking performance against KPIs, identifying variance drivers, and influencing strategic direction.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary finance partner, owning forecasting, planning, and performance management.
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights to inform growth, drive efficiency, and guide capital allocation.
Lead budgeting and long-range planning, build and own financial models, and evaluate critical initiatives.
Track performance against KPIs and identify drivers of variance.
Guide decisions on pricing, resource allocation, and cost optimization in partnership with operations, product, and go-to-market teams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or highly analytical field.
3-6 years in an investment-facing environment (e.g., Investment Banking, Consulting, Private Equity, Venture Capital, or Hedge Funds) with direct exposure to deploying capital or supporting investment decisions.
6+ years in an in-house finance role, partnering closely with operators to drive business performance.
10+ years of total experience.
Strong problem-solving ability with structured thinking and a high degree of intellectual rigor.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

$200,000 - $280,000 per year
