About the Role

Pursuit is hiring a Chief of Staff to our CEO to serve as a force multiplier for the executive team. This senior leadership role is central to strategy, execution, partnerships, and organizational alignment, translating vision into action and driving high-priority initiatives. The ideal candidate is a sharp, systems-minded operator who thrives in ambiguity, moves comfortably between strategy and execution, and brings strong judgment, presence, and follow-through. You will join Pursuit at a pivotal moment as we deepen our leadership in AI and workforce development, scale our programs, and build new products that expand economic mobility.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner and trusted advisor to the CEO on organizational priorities, decisions, and key initiatives.
  • Represent the CEO in internal and external meetings, ensuring alignment, clear communication, and follow-through.
  • Drive organizational integration and alignment by leading cross-functional coordination toward shared goals.
  • Lead executive team meetings and leadership retreats, including agenda-setting, facilitation, decision capture, and accountability tracking.
  • Translate strategic priorities into clear organizational roadmaps with defined milestones, owners, and timelines.
  • Build and maintain systems to track organizational performance, priority initiatives, and progress against goals.
  • Act as a connector across teams, identifying opportunities for collaboration and removing operational bottlenecks.
  • Support and, where appropriate, directly own the execution of high-priority strategic initiatives on behalf of the CEO and organization.
  • Drive continuous improvement in organizational processes, systems, and ways of working.
  • Draft and review high-stakes internal and external communications, including speeches, memos, and correspondence.
  • Champion Pursuit’s values and culture, reinforcing a high-performing, mission-driven environment.
  • Support organizational transparency and effective information flow to build trust and alignment.
  • Help manage the CEO’s time and attention, ensuring focus on the highest-impact priorities.
  • Support executive hiring processes, including role scoping, job description development, candidate screening, and interview coordination.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in high-performing, fast-paced environments such as startups, consulting, or high-growth, innovative nonprofits.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to synthesize complex information and translate it into clear recommendations and action.
  • Exceptional project management and execution skills, with a track record of owning multiple complex initiatives from concept through delivery.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, navigating change, and balancing long-term thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to build trust, influence across levels, and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
  • A systems-oriented, ownership-driven mindset, with the ability to identify patterns, improve how organizations operate, and drive accountability.
  • Deep alignment with Pursuit’s mission and a genuine interest in the intersection of technology, AI, and economic mobility.
  • Experience supporting organizational growth, scale, or periods of significant change.
