About the Role

We are seeking a Payroll Coordinator to support payroll operations and benefits administration for Talize. This role involves assisting with payroll preparation, employee data management, and system support to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will also support full-cycle bookkeeping functions for specific business areas as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Administer payroll and compensation programs, including new hires, terminations, retroactive pay, and leaves.
  • Verify and compile payroll data for timely processing.
  • Submit accurate payroll data on time.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and maintain accurate payroll accounts.
  • Serve as the point of contact for employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and time off.
  • Support the administration of group benefits and retirement plans, including liaising with carriers.
  • Provide compliance support for payroll, benefits, and legislative changes.
  • Generate reports and perform data analytics related to payroll and benefits costs and trends.
  • Generate payroll reports and audit materials for internal and external use.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Manager for WSIB, CRA, and Service Canada audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data security in all payroll and HR processes.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and schedule adherence.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in payroll systems and processes.

Requirements

  • 0–2 years’ experience in payroll coordination and system administration support.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and maintain professionalism.
  • Proficiency with payroll software (Ceridian Dayforce preferred).
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation – National Payroll Institute.
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or related field.
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, labour, and benefits regulations.
  • Customer service orientation and data analysis skills.
  • Primarily office-based role with extended periods of computer-based work.
  • Requires prolonged sitting and frequent use of a keyboard, mouse, and standard office systems.
  • The environment is collaborative and professional, with occasional meetings and training sessions.
