About the Role
This role is responsible for the efficient and effective daily management of the Branch office in the absence of the Regional Branch Sales Manager. The Assistant Branch Sales Manager ensures adherence to bank policies and procedures while achieving sales goals. This position also assists in building a strong sales and service team, provides personalized customer service, and represents the bank in community activities to develop new business. The role requires strong leadership, motivational skills, and a desire for growth within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Staffing: Observes recruitment opportunities, develops interviewing techniques, works with HR to identify candidates, supervises Customer Service Specialists, Head Customer Service Specialists, and Personal Bankers, ensures appropriate staff training and cross-training, creates personal development plans, provides sales coaching, assists in diffusing customer concerns, disciplines and discharges staff using the Progressive Discipline program, delivers Employee Performance Appraisals, and manages branch staff payroll and time tracking.
- Sales and Service: Develops and maintains customer and business relations through outside calls and daily contact, uses a consultative sales approach, makes outbound calls to existing and potential customers, is knowledgeable in all bank products and services, represents the bank in the local community, assists in the onboarding process for new accounts, provides guidance on products and services, conducts Sales and Operational meetings, and motivates staff to cross-sell products.
- Operations: Accepts responsibility for all branch operations, assists staff with customer and branch concerns, ensures daily activities comply with internal controls, ensures staff participates in mandatory training, opens the branch early and closes it late, reviews reports, coordinates branch office supplies, tracks and inputs the Incentive program for customer service staff, interviews consumer loan applicants, explains loan options, qualifies borrowers, and cross-sells bank products.
- Other: Maintains the cleanliness of the branch and performs any other assigned duties.
Requirements
- A strong leadership role must be proven in prior work experience either internally or externally.
- Demonstrate success by achieving both individual and branch sales goals.
- Ability to accept and perform new job responsibilities as needed.
- Potential for further development and leadership opportunities must be an objective.
- Must maintain knowledge to ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and Bank policies and procedures.
- Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters positive working relationships.
- Must interact professionally with other employees, board members, customers, and external vendors.
- Must act in accordance with the Lake Shore Savings Bank Code of Conduct Policy.
- SAFE ACT Mortgage Licensing required (NMLS).
