About the Role
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an early-career Transportation Engineer to launch their career while contributing to diverse highway, roadway, and utility infrastructure projects. You will support planning, design, and delivery, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing preliminary and detailed design drawings, technical reports, and engineering memos for highway and utility coordination projects.
- Contribute to project documentation and advance designs through various development stages.
- Support the design of highways, roadways, utility relocations, grading, drainage, and related infrastructure systems.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements (MTO, TAC, municipal standards).
- Collaborate with internal project teams, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and maintain coordination.
- Participate in field investigations, data collection, and analysis for technical assessments and design development.
- Develop design drawings and models using OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D to support project objectives.
- Play a meaningful role in the technical delivery of highway and utility coordination assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience; transportation or utility project experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in CAD tools, preferably MicroStation, OpenRoads/InRoads, or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Understanding of highway, road, and/or utility design principles.
- Familiarity with municipal and/or provincial standards, including MTO, is an asset.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn, grow professionally, and contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects.
