About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Facilities Management team. This role involves hands-on mechanical maintenance, fabrication work, and ensuring optimal building performance across multiple FM sites. You will be part of a 10-person team with 7 engineers, working on both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day mechanical maintenance and repairs across multiple facility management sites
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to industry standards
  • Respond to reactive maintenance calls efficiently and effectively
  • Undertake mechanical and fabric-related tasks including minor fabrication work
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Work flexibly across shift patterns to meet operational requirements

Requirements

  • City & Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent recognized qualification
  • Relevant mechanical trade certification
  • Proven experience in facilities management environments
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical systems maintenance
  • Background in fabrication work
  • Track record of PPM and reactive maintenance delivery
  • Ability to work flexible shift patterns: Early shift (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM) and Day shift (10:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
  • Willingness to work overtime as required (weekdays at 1.5x rate, weekends at 2x rate)
  • 40-hour working week with appropriate breaks
