About the Role

Cogent Labs is seeking a growth-minded, bilingual QA Engineer to join their international team in Roppongi. This role offers direct opportunities to own product quality for various development projects, with a preference for strong Japanese communication skills due to the primary user base in Japan. The position is ideal for early to mid-career engineers who value both manual testing and automation, offering a flexible, results-driven environment to manage the entire QA lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Handle test planning, test design, execution, bug reporting, and post-release verification.
• Evaluate functional and non-functional requirements and address feedback during reviews.
• Support and scale UI/API test automation coverage.
• Investigate test failures objectively and collaborate with developers for resolution.
• Learn and apply modern testing frameworks, load testing, and AI-assisted QA.

Requirements

• Foundational knowledge or basic experience in software testing methodologies.
• Practical understanding of or strong interest in mastering UI/API test automation.
• Strong sense of ownership, adaptability, and a proactive drive to learn.
• Native or JLPT N2 Japanese proficiency.
• Conversational level or higher English proficiency.
