About the Role
We are hiring a Commercial Pipe Fitter to join our team at a mechanical contractor in the North Austin area.
Responsibilities
- Install and repair mechanical piping systems in heat transfer, compressed air, and material handling systems.
- Install various types of pipes utilizing blueprints.
- Measure and cut various sizes of pipe and tubing to required angle and length using pipe power tools.
- Thread and assemble all types of pipe and tubing including PVC, Copper, and Black Pipe.
- Connect piping systems with fittings, tack welding, or threaders.
- Install valves, hangers, supports, and flanges in mechanical piping systems.
- Test pipes to ensure proper functionality and safety.
- Repair defective pipes.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recent verifiable experience with pipefitting.
- Experience in installing pipe in commercial and industrial buildings.
- Personal hand tools are required for pipefitting.
- Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work overtime if needed.
