About the Role
Ensuring a culture of continuous learning, engagement, and high performance is maintained, while ensuring HR practices align with organizational objectives and legislative requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop learning materials, presentations and facilitate instructor-led and virtual training sessions on HR-related topics, workplace policies, and professional skills.
- Identify and coordinate external training opportunities, workshops, conferences, e-learning resources, and employee development programs.
- Maintain the Learning and Development calendar and training records and monitor mandatory training compliance.
- Assist with developing, coordinating, and delivering orientation, onboarding programs.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs, assist with the coordination of Town Halls, wellness and employee well-being programs, and special events.
- Assist with employee surveys and post-events evaluations.
- Support change management activities and participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with drafting HR related communication and updates, preparation and distribution of documents, presentations and other materials, collaborating with communications team as needed.
- Stay current on employment legislation, HR trends, and learning and development best practices.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to policies, procedures and programs, while fostering a positive, open line of communication.
- Provide support for benefits administration and recruitment support as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering employee training programs.
- Experience in HR generalist functions including orientations, employee relations, employee engagement, and policy interpretation.
- A strong understanding of best practices and demonstrated working knowledge of relevant employment legislation in Ontario and workplace compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and HRIS programs such Workforce Now/ADP.
- Experience working in a unionized environment considered an asset.
