About the Role
Atoms is seeking a Lead Product Designer to join the Facility Tech Team. This role focuses on optimizing food facility operations, empowering kitchen partners, building restaurant management tools, and leveraging AI for business growth and internal design processes. The designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct user research, and enhance the design system.
Responsibilities
- Design software and workflows to optimize how food moves through facilities, managing thousands of orders daily.
- Build software to help kitchen teams efficiently prepare, manage, and fulfill orders, increasing throughput.
- Create products that support restaurant partners throughout their lifecycle, including onboarding, rent management, and operational support.
- Explore, design, and implement AI-powered solutions for customers and internal design tools.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and operations to plan, build, test, and launch products.
- Participate in design critiques and cross-functional reviews to refine ideas and iterate on solutions.
- Conduct discovery research to understand user insights and influence team strategy.
- Prioritize usability by testing designs with real users.
- Contribute to and improve core design system patterns for product consistency.
Requirements
- A passion for food and helping restaurateurs succeed.
- 3+ years of experience in product or UX design.
- Strong full-stack design skills, including interaction design, visual design, and system thinking.
- Proven track record of building products from the ground up.
- Experience working effectively with cross-functional partners.
- Familiarity with designing complex data-driven applications (dashboards, maps, analytics).
- Familiarity with designing mobile apps.
- An impact-driven mindset prioritizing customer value delivery.
- Ability to be a strategic partner, understanding the competitive environment and shaping product vision.
- A team player who is a proactive communicator, has no ego, and loves to collaborate.
- Sound judgment combining data with instinct to build the right thing and meet business objectives.
