About the Role
This role supports the growth, visibility, and client development efforts of an architectural practice by managing marketing, proposals, client outreach, and relationship-building. It requires understanding the design and construction industry to position the firm for new opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain marketing collateral, including firm profiles, project sheets, resumes, brochures, presentations, and award submissions.
- Coordinate updates to the firm's website, social media platforms, and digital portfolio.
- Write and edit project descriptions, staff bios, press releases, newsletters, and other marketing content.
- Maintain a library of project photography, renderings, resumes, references, and proposal materials.
- Support public relations efforts, including media outreach, speaking opportunities, publications, and industry recognition.
- Assist with event planning, including conferences, client events, open houses, and industry networking functions.
- Research and identify potential clients, project opportunities, RFPs, RFQs, and industry trends.
- Assist in preparing responses to RFPs, RFQs, qualifications packages, proposals, and interview presentations.
- Track leads, client contacts, deadlines, and business development activity using CRM software or internal tracking systems.
- Support firm leadership in client outreach, follow-up communications, and relationship management.
- Help develop strategies to pursue work in target markets such as commercial, residential, institutional, civic, healthcare, hospitality, mixed-use, or other relevant project types.
- Coordinate with principals and project teams to gather relevant information for pursuits and client presentations.
- Maintain accurate records of firm experience, project data, consultant teams, client references, and proposal history.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and upcoming development opportunities.
- Support internal meetings related to marketing, business development, and strategic planning.
- Ensure all marketing and proposal materials are accurate, consistent, professional, and aligned with the firm's brand.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, architecture, design, or a related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in marketing, business development, or proposal coordination, preferably within architecture, engineering, construction, real estate, or professional services.
- Strong writing, editing, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate input from various team members.
- Experience preparing proposals, qualifications packages, or interview presentations is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
- Experience with CRM systems, Deltek, OpenAsset, Canva, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Interest in architecture, design, construction, and the built environment.
- Professional, proactive, and detail-oriented.
- Strong visual and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working with senior leadership and technical staff.
- Able to translate architectural and technical information into clear, compelling marketing language.
- Collaborative team player with strong follow-through.
- Comfortable attending networking events and representing the firm professionally.
- Creative thinker with a business-minded approach.
