About the Role

This Multi-Site Head Chef role focuses on supporting our Open House sites, The Lighterman and The Broadcaster, ensuring high and consistent food standards. You will work closely with the Executive Chef, flexing to support other sites as needed, and be trusted to provide input through various means, from hands-on cooking to team mentoring and administrative tasks. The role involves supporting existing Head Chefs by coaching, developing junior teams, and assisting during services, while maintaining established standards rather than reinventing them.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain high food standards across multiple sites.
  • Provide coaching and development for junior team members.
  • Assist with kitchen operations during busy services.
  • Manage commercial aspects including wages, dish costs, and supplier negotiations.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on standards and operational decisions.
  • Adapt to the needs of different kitchens and teams.
  • Work closely with front of house teams.
  • Support Head Chefs when they are away, maintaining existing standards.
  • Develop dishes and systems executable under pressure.
  • Participate in financial discussions regarding kitchen operations.

Requirements

  • Michelin or rosette-level training or experience.
  • A genuine love of food with a deep understanding of ingredients, flavor, and technique.
  • Confidence to teach and inspire junior chefs by leading from the front.
  • Track record in high-volume kitchens, events, and seasonal menu development.
  • Real commercial confidence, including wage management, dish costing, GP, and supplier negotiation.
  • Ability to hold your own in finance conversations.
  • Comfortable dipping in and out of established teams, quickly earning trust.
  • Ability to get the best out of people who do not report to you day to day.
  • Understanding that food is only half the job, requiring close collaboration with front of house.
  • Confidence working near founders and owners.
  • Ability to read a team's needs, adapt to strengths, lift morale, and improve the kitchen environment.
  • Ability to lead with a smile, create a buzz in the kitchen, and earn respect through actions.
