About the Role

Mercer's Employee Experience & Engagement practice is seeking a Managing Director/Partner to lead the practice globally. This role will transition the practice from a survey provider to a category-defining advisor on workforce intelligence and human performance, focusing on strategy, solutions, thought leadership, and global partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic agenda for the practice worldwide and sit on the global Talent Advisory leadership team.
  • Define the multi-year roadmap, partnership and product strategy, and align the practice behind a coherent point of view.
  • Equip markets with sharper offers, better proposals, stronger sales materials, and differentiated thinking.
  • Partner with regional and country leaders on large opportunities and participate in key pursuits.
  • Engage personally on strategic global client relationships, advising on hybrid work, AI adoption, productivity, and future workforce needs.
  • Evolve the solution set to integrate listening, intelligence, and action, embedding predictive and generative AI capabilities.
  • Lead the global practice community, focusing on diagnostics, AI-enabled workforce intelligence, behavioral science, and business impact.
  • Set the bar for excellence, build learning paths and certifications, and attract senior talent.
  • Own the practice's most important external partnerships and global initiatives.
  • Serve as a visible external face of Mercer on the future of work, employee experience, and workforce intelligence.

Requirements

  • Senior consulting or industry leader with typically 15+ years of experience.
  • Deep credibility in employee experience, engagement, talent, or adjacent workforce domains.
  • Clear point of view on the value of employee listening and workforce intelligence.
  • Track record of leading through influence in a matrixed global organization.
  • Demonstrated success at the CHRO/C-suite level, with evidence of selling advisory and transformation work.
  • Personal credibility as a practitioner, valued for thinking and delivery quality.
  • Clear point of view on the future of employee experience and workforce intelligence, including AI's impact.
  • Track record of building global communities of practice and raising capability.
  • Comfort being a public voice with media, stage, and written thought leadership.
  • Global mindset; experience working across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific is strongly preferred.
