About the Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will join a 10-person finance team at Sunday Natural, working closely with the Head of Accounting. This senior role involves taking responsibility for daily operations, acting as a key contact for the team, and supporting the company's growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the general ledger
- Control automatically generated outgoing invoices in the Odoo ERP system
- Lead the preparation of monthly financial statements
- Support annual financial statements according to HGB
- Ensure accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and deferrals
- Prepare VAT returns and coordinate with external tax advisors and authorities
- Manage intercompany invoicing, payments, and reconciliation
- Support IFRS-relevant reporting and contribute to group consolidation
- Act as the primary contact for the accounting team for technical questions
- Perform content checks on team-prepared bookings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Requirements
- Completed training in accounting, tax assistance, or a business degree
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in accounting or finance
- Sound knowledge of German commercial law (HGB)
- Experience with IFRS
- Structured, careful, and proactive working style
- Interest in the digitalization and automation of finance processes
- German language skills at C2 level
- Negotiation-ready English skills at C1 level
- Residency in Berlin or the surrounding area
