About the Role
This role involves line-management responsibility for contractors, engineers, and operatives. You will organize and schedule onsite activities for the maintenance, refurbishment, and modification of traffic signals, ancillary equipment, and highways systems. Your work will cover a full range of technologies and provide opportunities for teamwork, problem-solving, learning, and growth, with a focus on prestigious customer events and Supplementary Works, requiring close liaison with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Support the TTC Maintenance Team for all Ordered Maintenance within the TTC Contract for TFL.
- Lead planning and delivery of Events in North and Central London, including Royal, Military, State, and Sporting events.
- Manage Supplementary Works issued for North and Central London, ensuring timely and budget-compliant planning and delivery.
- Prepare detailed financial claims within defined timescales and ensure correct submissions for prompt payment.
- Ensure all employees, subcontractors, and third-party stakeholders work safely for all Ordered maintenance works.
- Assist in the delivery of other Maintenance related works, including training.
- Assist with managing the engineering team in all support functions.
- Ensure stock is organized, booked accurately, and available for any Ordered Maintenance works.
- Monitor and promote health and safety practices and reporting within the team.
Requirements
- Experienced Traffic Signals Engineer with either or both Installation and Maintenance experience.
- Strong customer focus and supportive of all stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team management experience, with enjoyment in motivating and educating others.
- Co-operative, resourceful, and willing to use initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks, staff, and organize materials, employees, and sub-contractors.
- Accurate, reliable, and enjoys getting things right the first time.
- Ability to communicate clearly, work well with others, and promote good team morale.
- Confident working with IT equipment including a tablet and laptop, and able to learn new software.
- Must hold a full UK Driving License.
- Enjoys working outside and at heights.
- Strong understanding of safe working practices.
