About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Underwriter to support our underwriting team in assessing risk and administering insurance policies. Fluency in Italian is essential, as the role involves communication with Italian-speaking clients or partners.
Responsibilities
- Assist underwriters in evaluating insurance applications and assessing risk exposure
- Prepare and review policy documentation, endorsements, and renewals
- Liaise with brokers, clients, and internal teams to gather necessary information
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within underwriting systems
- Support the underwriting process by analysing data and producing reports
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and underwriting guidelines
- Handle general administrative duties related to underwriting operations
- Provide excellent customer service, including responding to queries in a timely manner
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in Italian (spoken and written)
- Previous experience in the insurance industry or underwriting environment
- Understanding of insurance principles and risk assessment
- Experience working with underwriting systems or databases
- Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Professional and adaptable with a willingness to learn
- High level of integrity and attention to confidentiality
