About the Role
Assist Optician and/or Optometrist in providing eye care to the patients of the Seneca Nation Health System.
Responsibilities
- Obtain medical histories from patients.
- Measure and record color vision and depth perception.
- Maintain optical and surgical instruments.
- Record and maintain patient data in the EMR.
- Obtain and record patient's preliminary case history in the EMR.
- Schedule appointments in the EMR.
- Assist with billing.
- Answer phones and triage phone calls.
- Generate referrals.
- Assist patients with frame and sunglass selection.
- Order frames and contact lenses.
- Perform lensometry.
- Maintain budget guidelines, files as needed, perform bookkeeping tasks with full knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Notify patients when orders are received.
- Provide service to walk in patients.
- Ensure month-end reports and reconciling are complete within 2 days of the end of the month.
- Ensure all returns are boxed up and sent back for credit.
- Perform other duties as the need arises.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years' experience in an optometric or ophthalmology practice.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a must.
