About the Role

Responsible for supporting the Head of Clinical Years with the consistent delivery of the Clinical Years in the Sydney Doctor of Medicine program.

Responsibilities

• Supports with the consistent delivery of curriculum and assessment.
• Supports to facilitate clinical schools’ participation in evaluation and ongoing improvement of curriculum.
• Provides support to manage the day-to-day operational matters of the Clinical Schools, including academic and administrative staff matters, negotiating contracts, stakeholder consultation, and coordinating clinical placements.
• Contribute to the professional development of other staff.
• Assists with managing student allocation to clinical schools for Years 3 and 4, and elective learning period placements.
• Provide support in student matters, pastoral care, and monitoring academic progress.
• Facilitate student access to university services.

Requirements

• Hold an MD or equivalent medical qualification and registration with AHPRA.
• Fellowship of a relevant professional body, or completion of a PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated experience in medical education and clinical practice.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to provide high level pastoral care to students.
• Understanding of, and commitment to, teaching in the context of the Code of Ethical Standards for Catholic Health and Aged Care Services in Australia.
• Ability to assess priority of tasks, manage workload and meet deadlines in a busy education environment.
• Computer literacy with standard office programs and use of relevant digital technology.
• Current and valid work rights in Australia.
