About the Role

The Replenishment Buyer plays a crucial role in maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring product availability, and contributing to the overall success of business operations. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics within the cosmetics, beauty care, and wellness industries.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with replenishment leadership, sales, and Demand Planning teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting for all active products, considering trends, promotions, and market insights.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement replenishment strategies to prevent stockouts and overstock situations, optimizing inventory turnover and minimizing carrying costs.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and product lifecycles to anticipate demand fluctuations and adjust replenishment plans.
  • Utilize replenishment and ERP tools to generate purchase orders, communicate with vendors, and confirm order accuracy against demand forecasts.
  • Coordinate with Operations/Warehouse teams to ensure timely and efficient product receipt and distribution, minimizing lead times.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize procurement processes, streamline workflows, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging products to make informed decisions and recommend new products or suppliers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Demand Planning, CDM, and Finance to align on business goals.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to management detailing inventory levels, supplier performance, and replenishment strategies' effectiveness.
  • Review and track exceptional SKUs (e.g., “early warnings” items, backordered items).
  • Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and originating departments.
  • Determine if inventory position is sufficient to satisfy business needs, leveraging tools and cross-functional insights.
  • Request information from suppliers regarding order status, changes, or product availability.
  • Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve issues with missed or late deliveries.
  • Track Project Management Tool (Asana) requests and engage in relevant Asana projects.
  • Monitor in-house inventory levels and movement by DC; execute inventory balancing transfers coordinating with Operations.
  • Maintain Fill Rate levels for assigned Supplier lines as established via Scorecard.
  • Ensure Alternate Source Availability is leveraged during Purchase Order Creation.
  • Review and evaluate late Purchase Orders and adjust lead time when necessary.
  • Ensure all Vendor Line Maintenance is accurate.
  • Evaluate and react to Second Source opportunities regularly.
  • Utilize available reporting to ensure on-time delivery of merchandise.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in replenishment buying or supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of demand forecasting and procurement best practices.
  • Familiarity with quality control and compliance standards.
