About the Role
Primer is seeking a brand leader to own the entire surface area of the brand, from narrative to visual design, photography, film content, and copy. This role involves growing existing brand systems and establishing a brand that is both aspirational and accessible to millions of families. The position requires developing scalable systems for local brand manifestation across hundreds of campuses and navigating the complexities of the education ecosystem to craft a leading American brand.
Responsibilities
- Define Primer's narrative, including its place in the education ecosystem, its positioning, and its core values.
- Establish brand norms for voice, language, and visual identity that are practical for use by campus teams and writers.
- Build a scalable system to ensure brand consistency across hundreds of local campuses and educators.
- Develop an operating system to manage all public-facing brand artifacts, ensuring consistency through clear standards and efficient checks.
- Collaborate with Growth, Admissions, and Product teams to align messaging, identity, and creative standards across all touchpoints.
- Lay the groundwork for employer brand and public relations to effectively communicate Primer's story to parents, potential staff, and the public.
Requirements
- A strong operator skilled in building systems, particularly for a central brand function supporting numerous local entities.
- Proven ability to achieve high standards in resource-constrained environments.
- Experience in building brands that resonate as both aspirational and accessible to everyday families.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong sense of taste and the ability to set and enforce voice and language standards.
- Ability to maintain standards while fostering positive working relationships, capable of saying 'no' constructively.
- A genuine commitment to taking families, students, and teachers seriously, ensuring the brand reflects this in all communities.
