About the Role
The Residential Community Coordinator manages a university residence hall, fostering an inclusive environment that supports student success, leadership development, and community engagement. This role involves supervising student staff, implementing educational initiatives, and collaborating with campus partners to enhance the overall student experience.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary community builder within residence halls to foster meaningful connections.
- Develop and assess programs supporting student engagement, wellness, and leadership development.
- Collaborate with campus departments to promote student participation in university life.
- Coordinate residence hall participation in orientation, cultural celebrations, and university events.
- Advise residence hall leadership groups and student committees.
- Maintain a visible presence to serve as a trusted resource for students.
- Identify and support students facing academic, personal, or financial challenges.
- Serve as a conduct hearing officer for policy violations and administer educational sanctions.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for evening, weekend, and emergency response.
- Respond to crises and student concerns to ensure safety and well-being.
- Serve as a Title IX mandatory reporter.
- Oversee operations for a residence hall community of 200 to 300 students.
- Supervise, coach, and train 4 to 8 Resident Assistants.
- Manage housing reports, occupancy records, room assessments, and key control systems.
- Coordinate residence hall opening and closing processes.
- Collaborate with facilities personnel to maintain a safe and healthy living environment.
- Act as a liaison between residents, families, and university departments.
- Utilize data to evaluate and improve residential and engagement programs.

- Proven commitment to student learning and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Experience creating a supportive environment in student housing.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management experience.
- Ability to reside on a full-time basis in university housing.
- Two years of experience in student housing or residence life.
