About the Role
The Sr. Digital Designer will collaborate with the creative team to develop and produce e-commerce website content, email campaigns, social media assets, and online marketing initiatives for Janie and Jack.
Responsibilities
- Translate business and marketing objectives into clear, compelling, and visually exciting designs.
- Produce design specifications, scenarios, and prototypes.
- Initiate concepts and work independently or with the creative director.
- Present multiple design solutions per project.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Design original layouts on a tight schedule in collaboration with copywriters and business partners.
- Clarify objectives, revise creative, and ensure accuracy for all projects with business, creative, and copy teams.
- Drive the creative process by presenting well-developed solutions to meet objectives.
- Execute product line updates for the e-commerce website.
- Hand-code HTML for emails and deploy them accurately and timely.
- Manage day-to-day operations with the email service provider, resolving issues and refining processes.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices for site/email design.
- Supervise and develop other designers and contractors.
- Provide effective feedback to drive successful designs and inspire the creative team.
- Balance personal workflow and priorities.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of professional experience in web design or multimedia.
- Online retail experience is a plus.
- Strong graphic design, layout, typography, image manipulation, and color correction skills.
- Relevant experience with a lifestyle-oriented trend-setting brand.
- Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, HTML, and Flash.
- Familiarity with InDesign.
- Expertise in idea generation and collaboration with copy and photography creative partners.
- Detailed-oriented, well-organized, and able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to apply user interface and interactive design best practices.
- Strong communication skills.
- Solid experience with resizing, optimizing, and slicing graphics.
- Willingness to be flexible in job duties and take on added responsibility.
- Ability to manage competing, high-priority projects.
- Ability to identify creative solutions quickly.
- Ability to self-direct under ambiguous and changing circumstances.
