About the Role
Sierra is building a platform to help businesses create better customer experiences using AI. The Financial Services team focuses on developing AI agents for systemically important banks, neobanks, and insurers, impacting millions of customers and billions in economic activity. This role involves designing and delivering production-grade AI agents, owning the Agent Development Life Cycle, and partnering with enterprises and startups to transform their operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver production-grade AI agents that are highly performant, reliable, and intuitive.
- Drive the Agent Development Life Cycle (ADLC) from pilot through deployment and continuous iteration.
- Build, tune, and evolve AI agents in production environments.
- Define ADLC best practices.
- Partner with leaders at large enterprises to understand business challenges and build AI agents.
- Partner with cutting-edge startups to embed AI agents across their business stack.
- Surface unmet needs, prototype new tools and features based on customer interactions.
- Collaborate with research, product, and platform teams to shape the future of AI agent development.
Requirements
- Experience building and scaling end-to-end production systems.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills, especially in fast-changing, ambiguous environments.
- A builder and tinkerer's mindset with high agency.
- Comfort working directly with customers to understand their needs and solve real-world problems.
- Excellent communication skills—clear, direct, and persuasive across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Genuine interest in Financial Services and improving the end customer experience.
- Experience building or deploying AI/LLM systems in production.
- Been a founder or founding engineer.
- Familiarity with tools that power today's AI agents: eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.
- Prior experience with React, TypeScript, and/or Go.
- Previous roles where you interfaced with customers or led technical projects with external stakeholders.
