About the Role
Join eBay's Offers team as a Software Engineer to revolutionize our Offer/BIN systems by modernizing the backend platform and driving an Oracle migration.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and evolve backend services that support Offer/BIN experiences.
- Drive CATY migration work across service and dependency boundaries.
- Partner with adjacent teams on API evolution, integration changes, and rollout planning.
- Improve service reliability, observability, and operational readiness during migration.
- Identify and reduce technical debt that slows Offer modernization delivery.
- Support safe launches through testing, monitoring, and phased rollout practices.
Requirements
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals.
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
- Experience building and operating production services in Java or similar backend stacks.
- Solid understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and service-to-service integration.
- Experience debugging production issues using logs, metrics, and traces.
- Ability to work across teams to drive delivery on multi-system efforts.
- Strong ownership, execution, and communication skills.
- Experience with platform or service migrations.
- Experience modernizing legacy systems without breaking downstream consumers.
- Familiarity with performance, reliability, and scalability concerns in high-traffic systems.
- Experience with rollout planning, backward compatibility, and risk mitigation.
- Exposure to ecommerce or transactional systems.

- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering
Salary/Compensations
- C$118,000 - C$157,500
