About the Role

As a Market Research & Data Analyst at Thomson Reuters, you will own the research and analysis for client and internal research programs. This involves designing proprietary studies, managing data through fieldwork and processing for statistical findings, and translating complex results into clear narratives for clients. It's a hands-on analytical role requiring comfort with surveys, including coding and post-fieldwork analysis, working closely with research, content, and commercial teams, and senior client stakeholders across concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

  • Research design: Scope proprietary research programs, define research questions, design survey instruments and discussion guides, and determine quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Data collection and management: Oversee fieldwork, manage sampling and quotas, and ensure data integrity from collection to an analysis-ready dataset.
  • Analysis: Conduct full analysis including cross-tabulation, significance testing, segmentation, modeling, and weighting; identify valuable findings; build summary tables, databooks, and data visualizations.
  • Storytelling with data: Translate analytical output into clear narratives and figures, collaborating with writers and designers for accurate and compelling report representation.
  • Client engagement: Work directly with client stakeholders to design research, interpret findings, explain methodology, and answer data-related questions.
  • Standards and integrity: Uphold Reuters' standards for accuracy, sourcing, and independence, with zero tolerance for unsupported claims.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience designing and delivering primary quantitative research, ideally proprietary studies for external clients or stakeholders.
  • Strong command of survey data analysis: weighting, crosstabs, significance testing, segmentation, regression, and related techniques.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing data in a statistical environment.
  • Ability to script, automate, and reproduce analysis is prioritized over specific tools.
  • Sound research design instincts, including questionnaire writing, sampling, fieldwork management, and attention to data quality issues.
  • Ability to interpret results and explain their meaning, limitations, and significance to senior readers.
  • Demonstrable experience in applying AI responsibly across market research studies and programs.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence to present and defend findings to senior internal and client stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage several concurrent projects to deadline without compromising rigor.
