About the Role
The Global Corporate Trust team at U.S. Bank provides trustee and agency services for debt capital market and loan market products. This role focuses on managing key customer relationships for the Conventional Debt Product, including high yield and investment grade bonds, and involves transaction execution, document review, and negotiation.
Responsibilities
- Manage key customer relationships for the Conventional Debt Product.
- Execute and manage transactions, including document review and negotiation for new and existing deals.
- Perform internal deal setup and review.
- Protect and grow fee revenues.
- Track industry and market developments and understand competitor capabilities.
- Ensure successful retention of existing customer relationships and generate new business.
- Accurately perform deal document review using standard bank language, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate control/risk language and identify feasibility of proposed duties.
- Manage the pre-closing document review process and coordinate comments from various teams.
- Manage document review and negotiation for ad-hoc issues on existing deals.
- Prepare deal documents for signings/closings.
- Actively manage closing/funding activities.
- Work closely with new business development/sales to solicit new business.
- Enhance key relationships with external stakeholders.
- Input into fee proposals.
- Develop and complete a customer-calling program.
- Deliver outstanding service to existing customers.
- Coordinate the successful resolution of customer issues.
- Manage growth of fee revenues through repeat business, cost containment, and operational efficiencies.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of deal and industry requirements.
- Perform client account reviews.
- Maintain a current level of knowledge and comply with all policies and procedures and regulations.
- Partner with the Corporate Trust Onboarding team to ensure KYC Requirements are completed.
- Ensure compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements.
Requirements
- A thorough knowledge of trustee and agency roles, capital markets/repack documentation, and closing functions.
- Strong customer service focus and account management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict management skills (written and oral).
- Ability to identify and mitigate potential risk.
- Compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all relevant regulations.
- Awareness of laws, regulations, internal policies, and procedures appropriate for the position.
