About the Role
Reporting to Zip’s Head of Workplace, the Senior Manager, Global Workplace Operations owns the operational engine behind Zip's global workplace portfolio. This role builds the systems, standards, and partnerships that ensure every office runs safely, consistently, and efficiently at scale. You will lead a distributed team of Workplace operations leads and coordinators, providing the structure, accountability, and support needed for them to operate with confidence and autonomy. This position is responsible for the operational backbone of Workplace, covering vendor strategy, contract governance, security, maintenance, and playbooks, ensuring high-caliber employee experiences without manual effort.
Responsibilities
- Own global vendor strategy and performance, including sourcing, RFPs, contract negotiations, SLAs, KPI development, compliance, credentialing, renewals, and benchmarking.
- Build and evolve the Workplace operational framework, creating scalable playbooks, SOPs, escalation paths, incident response protocols, and location-specific operating standards.
- Manage the Workplace operational budget, tracking spend, governing contracts, managing renewals, and identifying risks or opportunities.
- Lead and develop the distributed onsite Workplace team, establishing operating rhythms, coaching, accountability, and consistent service standards.
- Collaborate to develop safety and security programs, including onsite security operations, emergency preparedness, and incident response.
- Oversee facilities maintenance programs, balancing preventative maintenance, reactive work, and capital improvements.
- Set and uphold operational standards for every Zip workplace, creating safe, thoughtful, and consistently delightful environments.
Requirements
- Significant experience leading Workplace, Facilities, Corporate Real Estate, or Workplace Operations in a high-growth organization.
- Experience managing distributed teams and multi-site operations.
- Proven success building, transforming, or scaling a workplace function by establishing systems, standards, and operating rhythms.
- Strong financial and operational acumen, including managing operating budgets, contract governance, forecasting, and long-range planning.
- Experience managing global or multi-country workplace operations, understanding regional compliance, vendor ecosystems, and local operational considerations.
- Experience partnering on physical security programs, including access control, vendor management, emergency preparedness, and incident response.
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously in a fast-moving environment while balancing strategic priorities with operational excellence.
