About the Role
As a Field Auto Appraiser, you will be at the forefront of our claims process, meeting customers at their location to write estimates and guide them through the repair or total loss process. This role involves a mix of in-person visits, virtual inspections, and written communication, offering a fast-paced, hands-on experience that blends technical know-how, customer service, and field work.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate damage on-site and collaborate with body shops and service providers.
- Investigate casualty claims by performing detailed reviews of damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, and video chat to facilitate a fast, fair, and easy claims process.
- Offer customers their preferred communication method to discuss claim needs and provide updates.
- Evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants in accordance with legal and business standards.
- Utilize multiple tools, including estimate tools, job aids, and settlement platforms, to manage claims in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure claims are documented accurately and in line with policy agreements.
- Maintain clear, timely records in the claims system.
Requirements
- 3-5 years' experience in auto collision estimating using CCC or Mitchell.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to write precise and comprehensive estimates.
- Comfortable utilizing technology and various platforms for claims processing.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
- May be expected to obtain an adjusters' and/or appraisers' license in multiple markets within 60 days of hire.
- Must maintain all licensing required for the role, including continuing education.
