About the Role
As an Analyst in the Natural Resources Group, you will support senior bankers in originating, synduating, and executing investment-grade debt transactions. Your primary objective is to act as a strategic advisor to clients, providing tailored origination and financing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in executing RBC’s Investment Banking activities, including capital raising and capital structure advisory for debt-related products
- Generate and maintain client presentations including market updates and pitch materials
- Analyze fixed income fundamentals and macroeconomic trends to develop client recommendations
- Manipulate datasets into a visual manner
- Collaborate with Syndicate, Sales & Trading, Corporate Banking, M&A, Risk Solutions, and product-agnostic coverage Investment Banking to produce internal and client-facing materials
- Support senior officers in executing debt transactions, including managing internal processes, approvals, and client deliverables under tight deadlines
- Compile and synthesize investment-grade bond issuance data into client-friendly content
- Prepare and distribute indicative pricing information, market commentary, and economic updates for clients
- Manage ad hoc client requests and projects
- Collaborate with external professionals, such as lawyers, accountants, etc.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of previous experience in investment banking, capital markets, debt advisory, rating agency, corporate finance, or related field
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Math or related field required
- Strong understanding of capital markets; interest in investment-grade debt and the Natural Resources sector, including trends in the Power, Utilities, Energy and Metals & Mining sectors
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to go above and beyond
- Series 7, 63, 79, SIE certification
